To mark the occasion, the Duchess of Sussex joined in on a video call with three women – Agnieszka, Charlene and Karla – who have been helped by the charity which aids in preparing them for interviews, as well as providing them with smart clothes to wear.
The launch of the ‘Smart Set’ collection with Smart Works last year was highly successful, which was done in collaboration with Marks & Spencer, Jigsaw, John Lewis and Misha Nonoo.
In an exclusive interview with Emirates Woman, Nonoo recently revealed how working with Meghan on this project was one of her career highlights.
Nonoo was recruited by her close friend Meghan as part of her patronage with Smart Works to design a version of her signature ‘Husband Shirt’.
To mark the first anniversary of her Smart Set fashion collection, Duchess Meghan recently joined @SmartWorksHQ clients to talk about their experiences with the women’s employment charity and how it has transformed their lives.

“The collaboration was very exciting because our values as a brand perfectly align with Smart Works’ and the Duchess of Sussex’s amazing mission of helping women succeed in the workforce,” Nonoo told Emirates Woman in our recent September issue.
“We’ve always strived to provide women with versatile, timeless clothing that helps give them confidence in their professional life.” The design process for the collection with Meghan was “super collaborative”, Nonoo reveals and was also a huge success.
“Through the 1-for-1 model, we were able to donate 1,500 shirts to Smart Works, and help that many more women realise their potential,” the designer added.
