Meghan Markle secretly visits Smarts Works

No rest for a Royal
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are weeks away from welcoming their baby, but that is not stopping Meghan Markle from working. It seems like the mother-to-be takes her royal patronages very seriously, as she secretly visited the Smart Works charity to celebrate the incredible success that it has been having since her involvement was announced.
Last January, Queen Elizabeth II announced Meghan’s very first patronages, which included Smart Works, which aims at helping underprivileged and vulnerable women get back into the workforce. Even though the Duchess has been involved with the charity for three short months, her impact has already been evident, as the organisation helped almost 50% more women in February 2019 than it did in the same month in 2018.
The announcement was made by Royal commentator Omid Scobie on Twitter, who also revealed Meghan’s secret visit. He wrote, “Still busy! Duchess Meghan this morning attended a meeting with @SmartWorksHQ (and CEO @byKateStephens) at St Charles Hospital. The charity has been growing rapidly since Meghan became patron. In February they helped 187 women in London alone (47% more than this time last year).”
Before leaving the couple met with staff working at @NZinUK (as well as received words of luck ahead of the birth of Baby Sussex).
Says Sir Jerry: “Their Royal Highness’s visit is reflective of this outpouring of support and it was wonderful to welcome them to New Zealand House.” pic.twitter.com/l757MuiOFd— Omid Scobie (@scobie) March 19, 2019
