Nigerian movie industry is getting in a good shape, kudos to dynamic cinematographers such as Oyenuga Oluwagbemileke Oluwasegun who excel at what they do.
Oluwasegun started in 2006 as a trainee at MITV, he moved to Monster Muziq as a camera man in 2008 -2012, and then to
Goldmyne TV as a Director Production for a program called Hitz on TV, African screen and Video wheels.
Later on he became a freelance cinematographer with lots of public celebrity in Nigeria and then Freelance assistant DOP with Nemsia studio on the Movie God calling and Banana Island Ghost

The Nigerian film industry, also known as Nollywood, produces about 50 movies per week, second only to India’s Bollywood—more than Hollywood in the United States. Since mid-2000s, during the decline of the video-film era, the Nigerian cinema has undergone some restructuring to promote quality in output and professionalism in the industry, with The Figurine (2009) widely regarded as marking the major turn around of contemporary Nigerian cinema. There has since been a resurgence in cinema establishments, and a steady return of the cinema culture in Nigeria. As of 2013, Nigerian cinema is rated as the third most valuable film industry in the world based on its worth and revenues generated.
According to Guardian NG, In 2018, the arts, entertainment and recreation industry represented 0.21% of Nigeria’s GDP at a value of nearly N270 billion. In the first quarter of 2019, the industry garnered approximately N87 billion which accounted for 0.27% of the country’s GDP. The Nigerian box office also contributes significant value; in 2017, N4.3 billion was realized and is expected to grow to an estimated N6.4 billion by 2022.
